Nevada City Medical Marijuana Dispensary Workshop

I attended the Nevada City Medical Marijuana Dispensary Workshop put on by Vice Mayor Robert Bergman earlier this evening. HUGE kudos to the Vice Mayor for taking the time not only to open up a forum for the community to discuss a dispensary, but also for the tremendous amount of research he has done. Throughout the evening there were about 20 or so interested parties. The “agenda” was quite casual. Vice Mayor Bergman politely shared some ground rules and topics which he felt should be discussed, however everything was up for discussion with the exception of whether or not medical marijuana is a valid form of medication…this was to be considered a given, at least for this particular evening.

I have been watching the Nevada City Council meetings in regard to this particular issue as well as attended the Nevada County Board of Supervisors’ meeting last week. All three entities currently have a moratorium in place. As with everything, there are a select group of players who show up at the meetings. Well spoken, respectful, and knowledgeable these individuals are good resources for me to ask questions of in regard to the City of Grass Valley. I would like to pose the question to those who do not and/ or cannot be at the meetings…

What are your thoughts on a medical marijuana dispensary in Grass Valley?

Looking forward to hearing from ALL of you!

  1. Yo,
Thanks for plunging into technology and using it to garner opinions from your constituents. You are a "public-servant" trailblazer (along with Aaron Klein and a handful of others). Kudos to Robert Bergman for holding the workshop, too. As for the medical marijuana dispensary itself, I'm glad we're studying it more closely, "looking before we leap." Lots of time to do this. We also need to watch the rest of the state too.
